Goodnight My Child

Mother matron dress sweeping the sky arms extended caressing touch Child sleeping eyes shut tight chubby hand curled around mother's finger Father watching proud and weary night is coming sleep Blanket fluffy mattress springy light dimming the moon is shining A tired doggy head on paws jealously watching affectionate blinking Music playing Mother singing a lullaby wishing an undisturbed sleep Rocking cradle gently kissing the soft forehead gliding noiselessly away And soon all's quiet not a sound silence but good silence it's a hushing kind of calm.

Stars Like Rain

Showers of silver, flowers of ice They fell like meteors that night But I just stood there in fright Because they fell like wraiths Wraiths that glowed with blue flames and suns ghosts with pale swords and shimmering banners and they soared with seeming infinite strength through the colorless expanse we call the sky No one saw them fall to Earth silent as death, deadly as poison full of horrifying resolve to murder, to kill, the ender of lives.   Another night passes we live in constant fear for the Wraiths hunt us down one by one and there is no escape.

Leaves on Water. Haikus.

Leaves on the water float like petals down the stream. They soon reach my feet. I lift them gently off the surface of the stream. They're from maples. Drops fall from them like diamonds, nay, like tears from some mourning fairy lass. But the sunlight shines so cheerfully and brightly on the tears and laughs. For how can nature cry at its own beauty and still be so lovely? Letting it fall back to the stream, I watch maples flourish in the wind. They caress the air.

Riding the Northern Light. A Poem.

I saw the star through a mirror that night And rode a dragon made of the sun's light. It took my whole strength and might To recover from the mesmerizing sight. I saw the morning sky at dawn, a pale pink rose That faded again into orange, then yellow, then it froze into diamond blue. It could've been very close to a teal color, but by then I sank into a light doze... I found myself on a fearsome dragon but it was white, white like a flagon of milk, and it was powered by sagging wings that beat against the wind, the star's oceans.   Will the sky ever be the same to my eyes To the one who rode the everlasting skies? The ride of fire, light, and burning ice to the very top of the angel's soaring cries? It placed me gently on a towering cliff Made of purest marble and it stood stark and stiff against the blackness of the sky. A heady whiff of sharp and icy air remained, like an ancient hieroglyph. Flying home was both saddening and heartlifting Bec...

Light and Dark. A Love Story.

He first saw her, laughing, with her companions. He never ventured out much, and lurked in his world, living alone, watching. Until today. She was bright. Her eyes. Her hair. Even her voice was clear and light, laughing so it sounded musical. The wind played with her skirts, enveloping her slim body until it was wrapped in diaphanous clouds. She was holding flowers in her hands, leaning in to smell the fragrance, her lips parted in a soft sigh. He started a little, catching his breath, and she saw him. What did he look like to her? A dark figure, wrapped in darkness? A young man, thrown out by his heartless family, reduced to this? She looked into his eyes, and he read them, They were full of fear, a little awe, and slight pity. He had retreated back into his forest. He did not want to be pitied. But he was lonely. Apparently the brighter woods were her favorite retreat, and she often frequented the place, along with her companions, who brought blankets and baskets. They wil...

Stella's Haikus! Part I.

Series One: The Ethereal. The falling snowflakes drifted endlessly like rain from the pearly sky. Rosy red peatls fall onto the clear river but they do not sink. The strains of music are very much like flowers. They blossom then fade. Can you see the fish darting through the blue-gray sea like metal arrows? The crescent moon tips and some golden dreams spill out. Sleeping, you can catch them. Glass shatters like glass into millions of shards. They look like diamonds. Night sky full of stars like gems on a black blanket shimmering brightly.
