Stars Like Rain
Showers of silver, flowers of ice
They fell like meteors that night
But I just stood there in fright
Because they fell like wraiths
Wraiths that glowed with blue flames and suns
ghosts with pale swords and shimmering banners
and they soared with seeming infinite strength
through the colorless expanse we call the sky
No one saw them fall to Earth
silent as death, deadly as poison
full of horrifying resolve
to murder, to kill, the ender of lives.
Another night passes
we live in constant fear
for the Wraiths hunt
us down one by one
and there
is
no
escape.
